'"Longing for Simpler Times"

 Date: August 31st, 2023

Hey Journal,

Today's been a day of serious nostalgia. You know those moments when you're just hit with this wave of memories from the past? Yeah, that's me right now. So, buckle up, 'cause I'm diving into some good old reminiscing.

College life is a wild ride, no doubt about that. But every now and then, I catch myself missing the days when things felt a bit less... complicated. Back when the biggest decision of the day was what movie to watch or which chocolate to grab.

I'm thinking about summer breaks when the sun seemed to stretch on forever, and the only deadlines were for getting back home before dark. Those times when the gang would gather at the park for absolutely no reason other than to hang out. The kind of stuff that makes you shake your head and chuckle at how simple it all was.

And speaking of the gang, remember when we were inseparable? Late-night chats about everything and nothing, impromptu trips to who-knows-where, and the jokes that still make me laugh out loud when I think about them. Life might have spread us out a bit, but those memories are like a glue that keeps us connected.

I can't help but miss the familiarity of it all. The places we used to hang out, the routines that brought comfort, and the people who made up my daily life. Don't get me wrong- college is a blast, and I'm making memories here too. But there's something about the past that's like a cozy blanket I can't but wrap around myself.

Back then, there was this weird sense of freedom. No bills, no major life decisions, no existential crises about the future. It was about soaking up the moment, without worrying about what comes next.

As I'm jotting this down, I'm realizing that these memories are like an anchor. They remind me of where I've come from and the people who've shaped me. They're like a little time capsule, capturing the essence of those carefree days.

So, here's to nostalgia, to reliving those those moments through the lens of bittersweetness. Here's to the good old days and the lessons they've left imprinted on my journey. And here's to the present and the future, whatever they might bring.

Till next time,

qisti.
